The Scribble Hub app — and reading it offline.
Scribble Hub is where a lot of isekai and LitRPG serials live. Here's what its own app does, where the mobile site stops, and how to read it offline and out loud.
Yes — as of mid-2026 there's a Scribble Hub app on iPhone. It's listed on the App Store as Scribble Hub – Read Stories (listing); the developer named is MyStoryList LLC, and the listing links to scribblehub.com's own privacy policy and terms. It's free to read in, and per the listing, an optional Scribble Hub Plus subscription unlocks chapter downloads for offline reading. On Android, we couldn't confirm an official app — there are look-alike apps on Google Play, so check who publishes one before you sign in.
If Scribble Hub is the only place you read, start with its own app or site. If your shelf also has a Royal Road epic, a translated cultivation novel and a Syosetu isekai — or you want every chapter offline and read aloud without a subscription per site — a dedicated reader is the better fit. Below is what each option is good at, and where our own app, Arc Reader, fits. We make it, so weigh that accordingly.
What is Scribble Hub?
Scribble Hub is a free site for original web fiction, founded in 2019 (SelfPublishing.com review). Authors post serials chapter by chapter; readers follow them, rate them, comment, and keep reading lists. The catalog leans toward anime- and light-novel-flavoured stories, with isekai and LitRPG especially prominent (EverybodyWiki); the App Store listing names fantasy, romance, LitRPG, isekai and cultivation among its genres and advertises over 45,000 novels.
Scribble Hub vs Royal Road
The two get mentioned in the same breath, and plenty of authors post to both. The difference is mostly flavour. Royal Road is the centre of gravity for Western progression fantasy and LitRPG — Mother of Learning, The Wandering Inn, Beware of Chicken. Scribble Hub skews toward the light-novel end: isekai premises, anime-style covers, more romance and slice of life, and fanfiction sitting next to originals. If you read one, you'll likely end up with a serial or two from the other. How to read Royal Road on your phone →
Does Scribble Hub have an app?
On iPhone, yes. Per its App Store listing, Scribble Hub – Read Stories offers trending lists and genre and tag filters, adjustable fonts and themes, reading lists and saved place, chapter notifications, read-aloud, and the community side — comments, reviews and a reader lounge. Scribble Hub Plus (monthly or yearly) adds offline chapter downloads, auto-scrolling, extra colour themes and reading stats.
That's a solid deal for a reader who lives on Scribble Hub. The trade-offs are the usual single-site ones:
- Offline is part of the subscription, per the listing. Free readers read online.
- It's Scribble Hub only. Your Royal Road and Syosetu novels go somewhere else.
- Android — as far as we can tell, there's no official Android app yet. Check the publisher on anything claiming to be one.
How to read Scribble Hub on your phone today
The mobile website is the floor, and it clears it: chapters load, the series page has the full table of contents, and your reading list is there when you're signed in. For a chapter on the bus, it's fine.
It frays over a long serial:
- No real offline. A browser cache is a guess, not a download. You can't bet a flight on it.
- Typography is the site's. Fine for one chapter; tiring at chapter 300 at midnight.
- No audio. Listening means copying text into the phone's screen reader, one chapter at a time.
- Updates mean checking. You open the site to find out whether anything dropped.
What you want for long Scribble Hub serials
Scribble Hub serials run long and update often. The features that matter, roughly in order:
- Whole-series offline downloads. Every chapter on the device, fetched in the background — not one page at a time.
- New-chapter alerts. The app checks, you get a notification, the chapter is already there.
- Listening that works offline. Lock-screen controls, a sleep timer, auto-advance to the next chapter — and a voice that doesn't need a connection.
- Typography you control. Font, size, line spacing, sepia or true black. A status screen should read as a list.
- One shelf across sites. Your Scribble Hub isekai next to your Royal Road LitRPG. The best LitRPG reader app →
How to read Scribble Hub in Arc Reader
Arc Reader is an offline-first reader for iOS and Android. Scribble Hub is one of the hundreds of sites it imports from. Here's the whole flow:
- Open Arc Reader. No account — you're reading as a guest.
- Copy a Scribble Hub series page link — the one that looks like
scribblehub.com/series/…. Or share the page straight from Safari or Chrome to Arc Reader, or find the novel with search or the in-app browser. - Paste it. Arc Reader resolves the title, author, cover and full chapter list.
- Every chapter downloads in the background — unlimited on free, Wi-Fi only by default. Start chapter 1 while the rest arrive. More on importing.
- Turn on updates. New chapters are detected, you get a notification, and they can download themselves.
- Read, or tap Listen.
Listen with offline voices
Tap Listen and one of 140 natural voices in 31 languages reads the chapter on the phone itself — no internet, no per-minute cost. Your phone's own voices work too. Each word lights up as it's read, tap a paragraph to jump there, set the speed, and use the lock screen to pause or skip. The sleep timer can stop at the end of a chapter; auto-advance rolls into the next one. More on listening · Turn a web novel into an audiobook
Fix character names once
Isekai names are hard on any voice. Pronunciation rules let you tell the voice how to say a character, a place or a skill name — once, for the whole novel. No more hearing the heroine's name mangled four hundred times.
Make the page yours
Light, sepia, dark, true black, or colours you mix yourself. A dozen reading fonts, backgrounds, and a paper page curl — or slide, or one long scroll into the next chapter. There's an e-ink mode for Boox and other e-paper screens, and volume keys can turn pages. More on the reader.
Free, with a few ads. The free version shows a few ads while you read. Pro removes them and unlocks every neural voice, sync and cloud backup — or spend coins earned by reading on an ad-free hour, day or week. Cancelling keeps everything you've downloaded.
Keep the community on Scribble Hub
Arc Reader reads chapters. It doesn't replace what makes Scribble Hub a community — comments under each chapter, ratings, reviews, reading lists the author can see. Those stay on Scribble Hub, and they matter: on a site built on free serials, a rating or a comment is a big part of how a writer knows anyone is reading.
So the honest split: read and listen wherever suits you, then go back to the series page to rate, review and comment. If an author has a support link, that's where the next chapter comes from. Arc Reader reads the chapters Scribble Hub publishes publicly — we don't bypass paywalls or advance-chapter gates.
